Working with the AI
The AI panel talks to Claude through the Loxley server. Claude can list, read, write, edit, rename and delete files, and it can redraw the project diagram.
Models
| Model | Best for |
|---|---|
| Claude Opus 5.5 | The default. Complete apps, migrations and careful refactors. |
| Claude Sonnet 5.5 | Fast, capable everyday building. |
| Claude Haiku 5.5 | Quick edits, copy changes, questions. |
| Claude Fable 5.1 | The most demanding, long-running builds. |
Which models are offered depends on the server's configuration. Your choice is saved per project.
Effort
- Low — quicker answers and fewer tokens. Good for small changes.
- High — more thorough reasoning and a larger output budget. Use it for new features and tricky bugs. High is the maximum.
Context Claude receives
Each request includes the project's files (up to a large size budget), the current diagram, your enabled skills, and the recent conversation. From the composer you can also include:
- The open file and selection — so “refactor this” means what you think.
- Preview errors — the latest console errors, so Claude can fix them.
Reading the conversation
- Thought process — a collapsible summary of Claude's reasoning.
- File cards — each write, edit or delete, with a live view of code as it streams. Click a path to open it.
- Usage line — input, output and cached tokens, with the estimated cost of the run.
Press the stop button to cancel a run. Changes already written stay in place.
Tips
- Be specific about outcomes: “Add a contact form that validates email and shows a thank-you state.”
- Ask for a plan first on big changes: “Plan this as a diagram, then wait.”
- Send “continue” if a long build reaches the step limit.
